Our mission is to promote appreciation, knowledge and conservation of Montana’s native birds, other wildlife, and natural ecosystems to safeguard biological diversity for current and future generations. Founded in 1976, Montana Audubon has built effective programs in public policy, education, and bird conservation to serve its members and Montana’s nine community-based National Audubon Chapters.

Montana Conservation Voters
Mission: MCV shines a spotlight on the votes and actions of elected officials – from the Courthouse to Congress – affecting clean air and water, open spaces, wildlife, and public health. MCV works for responsible stewardship of Montana’s incredible natural assets by providing voter participation services to over 35,000 conservationists.
Through its affiliated political action committee, MCV supports candidates who stand up for conservation principles.
Yellowstone Valley Audubon Society
Mission: Building on the tradition of special interest in birds, Yellowstone Valley Audubon Society is organized to promote enjoyment and protection of natural environment through education, activism, and conservation of bird habitat.
Inland Ocean Coalition Montana Chapter
The Montana chapter of the Inland Ocean Coalition was co-founded by Regan Nelson and Ivy Fredrickson and will focus on ocean policy. Both Regan and Ivy are experts on ocean conservation issues, particularly marine fisheries policy and management, and are intimately engaged in federal policy as part of their day jobs. They see the Montana Chapter contributing policy expertise and knowledge on key engagement opportunities for the IOC to effectively influence federal policy.
Natural Resources Defense Council in MONTANA
Mission: NRDC’s Montana staff is primarily focused on protecting the land and wildlife of the Northern Rockies region while also promoting sustainable development. From a small office beside Bozeman Creek, our experts marshal local support and combine it with NRDC’s national influence to create breakthroughs in wildlife protection, livestock management, and other issues.
Upper Missouri Waterkeeper
Mission: Upper Missouri Waterkeeper protects fishable, swimmable, drinkable water throughout the 25,000 sq. miles of Montana’s Upper Missouri River Basin of Montana.

Sacajawea Audubon Society
The mission of the Sacajawea Audubon Society is to build on an interest in birds to promote the conservation of our natural environment through enjoyment, education and action.
Upper Missouri Breaks Audubon Society
Mission: to promote birds and birding in North Central Montana by:
1) protecting bird habitat (with an emphasis on species of concern);
2) educating people about birdsand wildlife; and
3) providing chapter resources to achieve the mission.

Montana Wildlife Federation
The Montana Wildlife Federation is Montana’s oldest, largest conservation organization. The federation was founded in 1936 by hunters, anglers, landowners, and other conservationists who were concerned about the loss of Montana’s natural lands, healthy waters, and abundant wildlife—a legacy the organization maintains today.
